The venue has capacity of 11,522 for end-stage concerts and 10,467 seats for basketball and 9,755 for football, while the arena has 9,643 seats for hockey as well as 6,339 for half-house concerts. A hockey team St. Charles Chill of the CHL which is an affiliation of St. Louis Blues has started playing its games in the venue in October 2013.
Among the main events that took place in the venue was the Boeing Integrated Defense Systems in the years 2005 and 2006. Other marking sports that are hosted in the arena are womens basketball championship tournament as part of the Missouri Valley Conference. The games were based in the venue since 2008.
Before the opening of Chaifetz Arena in 2008, Family Arena was hosting Champions on Ice. And prior to the relocation of Disney on Ice to Scottrade Center, it was also held in Family Arena. The latter has also hosted wrestling events including the Wrestlepalooza in 2000 and two versions of Lockdown in 2007 as well as 2010. Starting from 2007, MercyMe Christian rock band was performing in the venue.
